I have a website that needs help getting to the next level. The site has been producing revenue, although it is not yet profitable. I need a Technical Co-founder to help with this push. My site, Liv, is a place to collect and organize your favorite products from all over the Internet into one spot. Think Amazon wishlist that is social and not 10 years old.
We have over 10,000 retail stores and 18,000,000+ products in our database. We also have partners interested in working with us and utilizing our simple but effective platform.
The site is built in PHP and I am using the Jquery library on the front-end. Once a person finds something they want to save or share while shopping online, they click our browser Bookmark and we scrape the information and pull it into Liv in one very simple, effective method displaying the image and information to the user.
One of the biggest challenges is just getting new product features live to the site. Currently we get 50 – 100 daily visitors, all of which is organic traffic. One user even added 60 items to her Liv page in one day. These are passionate users who have given great feedback and suggestions. I need help executing on building out and improving the site.
Why I’m a Good Co-founder For You:
I’m a business guy. I need a tech guy. But I’m not just a bum business guy. I have gone back and learned how to code HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I’m still not very good, but I got to the point where I wrote all of the front-end code. I will work hard to deliver as a business cofounder, while also learning the tech side.
I hustle. Hard. I went out and talked to hundreds of people to get our partnerships in place, I know the industry problems inside and out, and I have good connections with the businesses we work with. Further, I have managed contractors and had a team in house. I raised money to finance the building of the site. I have investors interested for further investment once we hit higher user growth and revenue targets…access to more money.
What I’m Looking For:
- Javascript and PHP fluent
- Experience with Consumer Products
- Ability to prototype fast with a sense of urgency
- Location: San Francisco Bay Area preferred, but other locations are ok
I have a bias towards a local developer. Working in the same room is very important to me.
Why Is This a Great Opportunity?:
I am offering equity in the company (terms to be discussed) – The site is built, operational, growing user base, and producing revenue – A chance to take a project and help mold it into a success – Proven to obtain funding and if necessary will secure more funding
