Redefine a Stagnant Market, Eliminate Barriers to Entry, and Cultivate Fundamental Change
We’re searching for a founder level elite ninja/Jedi web developer to assist us in creating an innovative Web 2.0 branding platform that leverages crowd-sourcing and social media. We’ll be redefining a stagnant marketplace, removing barriers to entry, and cultivating fundamental change. We expect this person to not only be responsible for the development of the platform but to also be able to creatively collaborate at crucial pivot points during its evolution to beta.

You’ll be joining a great founding team that leverages domain experience from a globally ranked top 10 branding and marketing firm, a talented graphic designer, and a fantastic developer/CTO familiar with both front and back-end web development experience.

Responsibilities
• Most of your responsibilities will focus on front-end development, however we are looking for a generalist capable of also collaborating on back-end development

• Develop and implement new platform and product features that will assist our audience with branding and brand development

• Assist with API implementation and integration where needed

• Leverage LAMP technologies while developing in a Python/Pylons framework

• Convert designs/wireframes into our functioning website using web standards and best practices

• Propose and test improvements for A/B and multi-variate tests

Fundamental Skill Sets Needed
• Must have a true entrepreneurial and JFDI attitude.

• Lamp Stack Experience (Python, Pylons, HTML, CSS, XHTML, XML, Javascript, JQuery, Ajax, JSON, etc…) along with related technologies

• Database experience a plus (PostgreSQL)

• Demonstrated ability to apply agile web development best practices with respect to scalability, security, usability, load-time, and basic search engine optimization techniques

• Experience with social network APIs such as Facebook Connect, Twitter OAuth, Google Maps, etc.

• Experience with UX design and implementation

• Strong fundamental CS knowledge (data structures, algorithms) is ideal, as is a true passion for user interface development but most importantly, we need someone with a demonstrated ability to understand both the possibilities and constraints of web applications and large data problems.

• Programming language experience is great but is secondary to aptitude, intelligence, problem solving, and a willingness to learn and master concepts quickly. (We’re looking for talent not languages.)

• Passionate about helping small and medium sized businesses, branding, and the creative community

• Business acumen – ability to understand overall business

Where
We’re currently located in Charlotte, NC but virtual/telecommuting is acceptable until we have a viable release candidate. Ultimately, Silicon Valley is “the” destination for web-based startups and depending on logistics, economics, market factors, VC backing, etc… it may be a possible destination.

Compensation
Currently, this is an equity only position as a co-founder, a vesting period is preferred. Based on progression, this initiative could move in several different directions once crucial milestones are reached (profitability and/or venture/angel funding). There are certainly several options available once these crucial milestones have been reached and we’re willing to entertain anything that we deem to be fair and equitable. (If there’s a fit, we’ll make it work!)
